…Nardò is a lovely little town that is seemingly overlooked by many tourists in favour of the bigger cities but it has much to offer.

 

It’s like a mini Baroque Lecce!

Then on to a winery!  Schola Sarmenti. I had a tour of the cellars and the bottling room

And then settled down to tasting the produce !!!

As you can see the bottles grew in number. Well it would have been rude not to. The last one was their most expensive. Diciotto. Called that because it is 18%. And blinking delicious. Obviously I bought a bottle (not the Diciotto but a lovely Rosato) and the lovely Gio also bought me a bottle of Negroamaro so I am very well set for the next few days or so. 🍷
